Mrs Universe Farewell Function

Lynne and I met when we both auditioned for Musical Theatre at TUT in Pretoria in 2002. We became pen pals after that, but as life went on, we lost contact after a while. We reconnected at Karlien and Derick’s wedding were I learnt that she was crowned Mrs South Africa in 2011. Lynne has always been beautiful (I’m talking off the charts gorgeous here), but her inner beauty is what makes her sparkle and shine.
She planned on going to the Mrs World pageant in China at the end of August, but was then asked to take part in the Mrs Universe pageant in Aruba earlier in the month and jumped at the chance. We were asked to help her plan her farewell function at Emperor’s Palace in JHB on 27 July 2013. The brief was simple elegance and the evening was to be relaxed and informal. We wanted to do something a little bit different with the decor, so we rested the chandeliers on the coffee tables instead of hanging them from the ceiling.
She showed us her National costume and her crowning dress and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Minister Toko Xasa (in pink), wished her good luck with a heart-warming speech.
A-list guests and government officials spent the evening networking and mingling to the sounds of The Muses and the evening was a great success.
