The word ‘Carnival’brings to mind the sights and sounds of celebration and the bright, bold colours of happy childhood memories! Celebration being synonymous with a wedding, we took the theme and created a sugar explosion to keep the guests busy and the bloodsugar levels up while the couple take their photographs. This bon-bon buffet was given a vintage edge and we played it up a little with lace, ribbon and the white doily bunting.
The key to a successful bon-bon table, is that it must look inviting and irresistable! Bright colours, cute packaging and little details all make people stop and share a conversation while nibbling on the sweet treats. To break the over-load of sugar a bit, we incorporated popcorn (a Carnival, after all, isn’t a Carnival without popcorn!)
Our mock wedding cake (layer upon layer of delectable sugar-coated doughnuts) forms the centrepiece of our table and a couple of tongue-in-cheek phrases on toothpicks round off the look.
It’s always a good idea to give guests something to do with all the energy they will have from indulging in the buffet and since they’ll be in the mood for some craziness, a photobooth will do the trick!
The guests will be having so much fun that they won’t even notice the absence of the Bridal couple and by the time they get back, the party will already be in full swing!
